This is it – no dress rehearsal, no do-overs and no turning back time. THIS is your life! And it can be absolutely magical and extraordinary by understanding and embodying just three key commitments. Make no mistake – it’s not for the faint of heart! Read that line again… “understanding and embodying three key commitments”. To understand is to use your mind to engage and direct your comprehension, to embody is to invite every part of your being to fully support your understanding and to commit goes beyond mere agreement – it means that you will follow through with everything you have to see through what your head, heart and spirit have aligned with in your commitment. It is that level of evolved faith that has the power to transform your life into an extraordinary experience. Even more, that is the power that can catapult you to new and amazing results beyond where you can even imagine at this very moment!

The first key is so basic that it is deceptively simple. Here it is – show up and do the work! There is a quote about “80% of success is just showing up”. I would take that one step further – be present AND accountable! Learn the skills you need to go to your next level, confront and / or eliminate the blocks that are preventing your progress, study the concepts and develop the strategies that will help you move in new ways to get where you want to go. Consider what is in your way and get it handled! It may seem mundane, but this is a core piece of your foundation. When you look at where you are and where you want to be, you are creating your action plan for a more extraordinary life. And remember – this is deceptively simple because as you create and work your plan, you will need to consider your thoughts, self-talk, habits, environment, and everything else that is impacting your ability to show up and do the work.

The second key is to know what you know. Essentially, you already have most, if not all, of the answers you need right now to enjoy a more extraordinary life. The issue is likely one of three things: that you aren’t listening, not understanding the messages you’re getting or not taking action in alignment with what you know to be true for you. For example, you may know that you don’t feel good with a particular person, but you continue to associate with them, the person who is suffering is you. You’ve gotten a message, but you’re not understanding or relating to it nor taking action with what you really need or want; instead, you are effectively choosing to avoid your extraordinary life by expending your life force energy in a way that isn’t supporting you. Now there are reasons for that, such as not wanting to hurt the other person, not wanting to have “the conversation” to renegotiate your relationship, or not being able to justify it as right in your own mind. While those are, on some level, valid reasons, they are mental constructs that are opposed to what you know in your being. And any time we aren’t paying attention to our core knowingness, it will be reflected in our results. If you’re not living your extraordinary life now, there is a core knowingness that needs your attention.

The third key is to optimize your opportunities as often as possible. Most of the time, we don’t need to create opportunities – they’re banging on our proverbial door! Our biggest task is to decide which ones to pursue. You can know that’s true by sitting for 11 minutes right now and considering what you could do in your life just with what is in front of you today – it could be meeting a new person, setting up an international trip, starting a business or moving to a new state. The possibilities are truly endless! The question becomes what opportunities compel you to say ‘yes!’, to emphatically embrace them, with the awareness that to not take advantage of them would turn into a regret at a later time. We are here as a physical expression of divine energy, and one of the reasons we are here is to experience as much as we can while in physical form. ‘Carpe diem’, or seize the day, is truly what gives our lives the juice to manifest our greatness. Blending in to “fit in” with society, unconsciously following someone else’s path, and/or conforming to what other people’s expectations is a sure prescription to an ordinary, bland and mediocre life. Look at what is possible for you right now… to what calling can you answer an emphatic ‘yes’ right now? What change can you make toward your extraordinary life with an opportunity that’s waiting for you today?

These key commitments are simple, but not necessarily easy, to fulfill. Being extraordinary and living your unique magic means that you are actively directing and engaging your personal evolution process. Each one of these keys requires conscious reflection and action, working through all your layers of values, beliefs, thoughts and subsequent actions. Taking “right” action in each of these keys means you are aware of not just the rational, linear (left-brain) reasons to do so, but the intuitive, emotional (right-brain) reasons. It is a complete blend of who you are at your essential self with the world around you, in willingness to act on and receive all the spectacular experiences that are just waiting to come in to create your most extraordinary life. It makes doing the work, knowing what you know and optimizing your opportunities take on a whole new meaning, doesn’t it?

Everything that you are seeking right now is already within you. That’s a big statement but it’s based on my belief that we are here as a physical representation of Divine energy. That is, the Universe lives through each of us, and that (naturally enough) includes living through you.

When you recognize that you are special, that there is no one else like you, and that it is only through you that your particular light energy will ever shine for all of our collective benefit, something magical happens. You realize that if you live with your brakes on, if you turn down your light so someone else won’t feel bad, if you ‘take more’ because you can and so you think you should, you are cheating not only yourself but the Universe from full expression. You allowing the gold (or platinum or titanium or whatever) of your soul to shine is your gift and it’s your responsibility. That’s why you are here.

Some people refer to that as knowing your calling, others as knowing your purpose, and still others name it living your truth. Whatever you want to call it, the concept remains… you are a light being with a particular frequency that is completely unique, and it is your essential animation, or life force energy, that makes it shine.

Further, you get to choose how you want to direct it in this lifetime. By mining that which you already are, you get to choose what you want to share with the world in alignment with your values. And it’s the path to personal fulfillment as a soul-driven entrepreneur when you channel that energy into your business.

Three Things You Can Do Today:

1. Look for what shines for you. You may already know what makes your cells sing… from helping other people recognize their gifts to organizing to having interesting conversations to creating connections to conquering technology. Whatever your ‘gold’ is, if it already shines for you, it’s time to refine and share it with the world.
2. Mine the deepest, darkest part of you. Often in the darkest corner, the most compressed shadow place is what you have put aside as your greatest weakness. It’s that very part of you that can be your greatest strength. For example, if you feel like your creativity is stuck or doesn’t express, it could be your invitation to help others learn to express their creativity. If you feel the pain of isolation or abandonment, it could be your invitation to help people connect more fully to themselves and each other. You can take your darkness into the light.
3. Think about who will benefit from your gold. The people that will resonate with your gold are the people whose lives will be changed. There is no need to sacrifice your gold for the lowest bidder; rather, it is through you sharing in some reciprocal agreement (in the case of business, it’s usually money) that you express your sacred purpose and others benefit. It’s a win-win scenario.

Go within and find the riches for the sake of not only yourself, but the rest of us who will benefit by you sharing your gold.

To Your Soul-Driven Success In Every Way ~

Today is the Ninth day of the Ninth month in 2009, or 090909. It’s a big deal!

The Chinese use numerology to help understand the significance of particular events, and particularly honor endings as that is the stage for beginnings. This is especially exemplified by the number 9, because it is the last number in the natural series from 0 – 9, which means it is about completion. Over time, the number has become linked with fulfillment, endings, conclusions, completion and finishing up loose ends.

In the Western world, the field of numerology also attributes positive qualities to the number 9 – it means an evolutionary point at which you are poised to create something new as you finish what has been. The number nine is the ‘oldest’ in the series which means that, as in life, the elder innately understands how to care for others; the number nine is humanitarian in nature.

The shadow side of number nine is the awareness that there needs to be an end to many situations (relationships, careers, life choices, etc.) which may not be easy. There is potentially grief left in the wake of endings as you recognize what you are leaving behind as well as the emptiness that comes from making space through completions. It’s time to reconnect with and face the emotions that created what you need to let go of because you cannot move forward if you are holding on to the past. This is not about creating drama, or performing, but about authentic and complete release of what no longer serves you.

Nine can be about humanity and giving to others, but it can also be about cruelty as the emotional energy surrounding your endings pushes to the surface for awareness (and healing). Remember that nine is the most ‘advanced’ number, so you have the power of choice in the way you handle our transitions.

Also, the total of today’s number – 090909 – is 27. This is one of the most auspicious numbers for making change in Feng Shui, as many rituals last for 27 days. It is amazing how many changes you can make in just 27 days! One ritual for creating change in your life is to move or change one item in your home or office daily for 27 days in a row – by shifting your physical space, you are moving the energy in your life.

If you choose to honor what needs to end in your life and business today, you are creating the space for what is trying to come in; that is, you have cosmic timing on your side to help you complete the loose ends and get ready for the new.

Three Ways to Call in the Power of 090909:

1.     Take action on letting go of what needs to end in your life. If you have tolerations, or things you are putting up with, that is a place to start. That might mean the squeaky door in your house, the friendship that feels draining, the business routine that seems pointless and isn’t getting you the results you want. What do you need to end, or complete, that will allow something new to come in? By the by, endings don’t have to be harsh… they just need to be authentic, honest and clear.

2.     Call the infinite power of the Universe into your life through fire. Fire is a powerful symbol of transformation, and is used in many rituals to clear away energy that is no longer needed. You can light a candle and release in your mind’s eye what you don’t need any more into the candle to purify that energy and let it go from your energy space. You can also write out what you want to release (regrets, fears, haunting memories) and burn that piece of paper as you request the Universe to take that energy from you and cleanse it. Or you can just enjoy the peace and serenity of a candle for a few moments as you recall the best parts of whatever it is that you are releasing. In any case, invite the Universe to support you in your transition.

3.     Use the number 9 symbolically in your environment. You can get 9 tealight candles or a picture of 9 things or even draw the number 9 and hang it where you can see it comfortably from your desk. By placing the number 9 in your space, you are referencing and invoking the number of completion. It is especially powerful today… essentially, you are jump-starting your ability to tie up the loose ends in preparation for all the new that’s getting ready to enter your life.

One last tip: if you are out of alignment with any endings or completions that either need to happen or that need to be released, this is the most auspicious day to get that handled. What could be better than getting yourself harmonically aligned with your endings on the cosmically most auspicious day for completion?

Here’s to Your Soul-Driven Success In Every Way

Hi –

As strange as it feels to send this out, I am learning to receive from the Universe as a result of my recent health scare. Upon hearing about my experience, my client and friend put together a donation campaign to help with the mounting medical expenses facing me as an uninsured person.

Essentially, I woke up at 2:30 one Monday morning, long before the sun, and I felt my chest contracting, my left hand tingling and going numb and not feeling well. I decided to google my symptoms (naturally!), as I was sweating profusely and my jaw was tightening, and everything said I was experiencing some potential signs of a heart attack. Everything said “go to the ER NOW!!”. As I don’t have health insurance, I questioned that command, but the voice in my head kept saying to go to an ER.

So I googled the nearest hospital (since I rarely need healthcare and don’t have a provider), and got myself there to get a work-up. The staff was really sweet, but my symptoms were atypical and they weren’t sure what to do with me. They sent me home under the proviso that I would go see a cardiologist, which I did the following day when I could get in to his schedule. The test I need to get, evidently, costs $2,700. I said it was nice to meet him and wished him luck on the addition to the clinic. ;+)

I’ve been monitoring how I feel daily, and while some days are better than others, I started receiving the bills from these providers. Those aren’t the good days… ;+) I expected the costs to be pretty high (I used to pay insurance claims in another life), but it has literally tripled all my expectations. It is daunting, to say the least…

I shared this situation with a client and friend recently, who is following Joe Vitale’s Attract More Money book. She decided to put together a “Cause” on Facebook to let people know of my plight and to ask for support. It’s incredibly generous and creative… she based her idea on “benefit concerts” that are given to support uninsured musicians, and calculated that a $12 donation from enough people could help make these bills go away (which would help with stress levels and help me get the necessary aftercare).

At any rate, as odd as I feel in being this transparent with you about my problems, Thornton is telling me to honor her initiative and to let people know how they can help me if they so choose… and that’s the point of this email to you. I’ve never done this before, and it’s definitely out of my comfort zone. And I’m doing it anyway, as scary as it is… thank you for reading this far. :+)
